"I'm ten years burning, down the road. Nowhere to run, ain't got nowhere to go."

With it's triumphant chorus, on the surface, Born In The USA seems like a patriotic anthem. The lyrics paint an entirely different story of a Vietnam veteran returning home from war. It's a dark story, one of hopelessness and struggle. If anything, Born In The USA is a misunderstood protest song. It seems relevant.
